Case study

A coffee roaster’s website, from the mock-up to the shop

An artisan roaster sells his speciality coffee beans, to individuals and to businesses alike. He wanted a website that shows his craft and sells online.

The home page: the menu, a full-width counter photograph, the headline and two buttons. The site journal: the section banner and the three articles, with their photograph and their category. The shop: the selection banner and the coffee beans, with their photograph and their price.
The home page, the journal and the shop.

What I did

I drew the mock-up, for the phone first, then built the site: the home page, the story of the workshop, the shop and its small catalogue, three long-form articles, a contact form. The copy was rewritten to be found on Google, and the legal pages written in full — a shop cannot be delivered without them.

A website delivered protected

A firewall, the pages scanned, and access accounts in the client’s name: a shop receives orders and personal details, so it is delivered protected.

Three days

From the brief to going live: three days.

A showcase website, or a shop?

Two lines are enough, even if it is still vague.
